PseudoPod 307: That Ol’ Dagon Dark horror podcast in the Lovecraft’n flavor was a story about a pipe tobacco “Ol’Dagon Dark”. Described as earth and salty sea blend I decided to do a kitchen sink burley blend. This is a ribbon cut blend with the burley coming from a new source for me Total Leaf Supply and the rest from Whole Leaf Tobacco.

Shredding Burley
Lovecraft’n American English blend perhaps?
- 85g Burley (cased in molasses/tonka)
- 10g Perique
- 20g Dark Fired Kentucky
- 10g Samsun
- 10g Izmir
- 20g Latakia
I remove the stems from the burley to get 85g and shredded the tobacco. After shredding the tobacco I cased with about 1oz of molasses/tonka casing with an atomizer. I warmed the mixture for 10 seconds in the microwave before spraying the tobacco.
Everything else was shredded and added to the bag and let rest. Finally after a day I mixed it up and jarred the mixture in a mason jar.
The blend needs time to meld but it is a nice American English. No harsh at all. Good and smokey, wife didn’t say anything about the room so I suppose that is a win!
