This is a 50/50 blend of burley and bright Virginia. The burley is cased with molasses/tonka bean and the Virginia is
cased with plum casing. I made four 160g plugs in the 2’ stainless steel tube.

I had some difficulty with fraying with the Chinese made meat slicer. I believe this way caused
by some uneven pressing of the plugs.

So switched to the antique plug cutter and made thicker flakes

Jarred up the flakes

The end cuts I cubed up to rub out

This round I decided not to stove at all. Hopefully I will not have issues with mold. The plugs were in the stainless steel tube for 8 days in a hot car. It was pretty humid all week so I wasn’t too worried about it drying out. This weekend the humidity started to drop so I decided to pull the plugs. I was afraid I would end up with plugs that cut like a 2x4 piece of wood. Glad I did, the moisture level of the flakes is good. I will be airing out the jar occasionally this next month.
